What We Do
We believe in doing a few things really well. Too many companies and individuals choose to do it all. Too few resources, whether it be staff, experience, time, materials or finances, create an overextended and underachieving workforce with an unsatisfactory end result. Amicus Construction Management brings a fresh approach. We do two things: Provide homeowners with representation and management of their homebuilding experience and Service architects with onsite construction progress inspections.
Our Story
We saw a need for specific solutions to a particular set of problems. We realized that our skill-set and experience position us to satisfy these solutions. We founded Amicus
Amicus has decades long experience within the construction industry. We have restored classic yachts, built remarkable custom homes, renovated and remodeled historic buildings, overseen commercial building construction, constructed award winning restaurants, and project managed international brand museum build outs.
The decades of experience have taught us that communication is key. Construction management is, in its most basic form, the management of the WHOLE project, and all the members of the team. That includes owners, experts, consultants, contractors and other parties. We realized that open, frank and sometimes difficult discussions are needed to accomplish the completion of any project.
We are situated in Sun Valley, Idaho, an area experiencing an unprecedented rise in the volume of construction. We observed an increasing sense of tension within the community due to the combined effects of limited resources and increased demand. We realized that we were uniquely positioned to help alleviate some of that tension by bringing our experience from the more mature and aggressive markets, including the New York City and Metropolitan areas, and apply that skillset to the local market.
Meet The Team
Ben Parker, Founder and CEO
An avid outdoorsman, Ben Parker made the transition to the Wood River Valley in 2019. Prior to moving here, Ben lived and worked in the construction management industry in New York City and New Jersey.
Ben has assisted multiple homeowners and business leaders in the construction of a range of projects - from bespoke custom houses James Beard nominated restaurants - both as General Contractor and Project Manager
Ben has been involved with a local General Contractor in the valley, where he gained experience in the nuances of local building and met and worked with many local contractors. He is thrilled to use his skillset from years of experience to help the valley through this period of rapidly expanding construction.
When not involved in building, Ben can be found in the mountains, on the rivers or in the desert.
